The Lifesling was designed in response to the need for a simple, easy to use, man overboard recovery system, which could be operated by a single person, without requiring sophisticated boating skills.
The Lifesling 3 is an upgraded version of the Lifesling, for use on larger recreational and commercial vessels. Added features include a longer 150 foot retrieval line for larger boats with higher freeboard, stainless steel D-rings to facilitate lifting the victim out of the water, 2" wide SOLAS reflecting tape for increased visibility at night and a UV-resistant, fiberglass case that includes simple graphics illustrating the instructions for recovering a person in the water.
Like the Lifesling2, the Lifesling3 can be towed to an overboard crewmember rather than the crewmember swimming to it. It can also be used as a lifting sling if the crewmember needs help getting out of the water.
